A property maintenance code has been adopted by the Borough of Freedom for regulating the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings, and structures by providing standards for supplied utilities and other conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary, and fit for occupation and use.
The Borough's adopted code, currently the 2009 International Property Maintenance Code, also provides standards for the condemnation and demolition of structures, basic equipment, lighting, ventilation, heating, sanitation, and fire safety.
