“Same Police Services, Additional Officers.”
The first regional police department in the county, The Beaver Valley Regional Police Department (BVRPD) officially began operations on June 4th, 2023. The department consists of the boroughs of Baden, Conway, Freedom, and the township of Rochester.
The headquarters are located in the Conway Borough Building (801 1st Ave.) Baden’s police station will serve as a substation.
The Commission managing the Regional Police Department consists of two (2) members from each of the participating Municipalities with a third member rotating between Baden and Conway annually.
Representatives and alternates are appointed by Baden, Conway and Freedom Councils and the Rochester Township Commissioners.
Officers of the Commission consist of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer who are elected by the Commission from its members.
Residents will receive the same police services as before the merging of departments; however, you might just engage with an officer you had not met previously. We would like the residents of all communities to know that no Full-Time officer lost their job after this consolidation.
We would like to give a special thank you to Beaver County District Attorney Dave Lozier and Detective Andy Gall for their assistance in forming the first ever Regional Police Department in Beaver County.
