Public Works Dept.

The Public Works  Department keeps the roads and streets of Freedom safe and useable. This includes snow and ice removal, mowing, catch basin cleaning, chip sealing, paving, line painting, traffic sign placement, brush pickup, and street sweeping.

 In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, you will find them cutting grass throughout the borough.  They keep the Third Avenue Corridor cut and maintained, along with the three parks around the borough.

Winter will find them doing snow and ice removal from our streets and avenues.  We also maintain the Ninth Street/Harvey Run Road circle for Penn DOT.  Considering the layout of Freedom on the hillside along the Ohio River, they do an excellent job of keeping roads accessible in the winter.
